***APPLICATION DEADLINE IS SEPTEMBER 15, 2016*** HIGHLIGHTS: - Study at the highly respected Hong Kong Polytechnic University - Exchange students are able to pay regular tuitions costs at Salisbury; a fraction of a typical study abroad program in Hong Kong Starting in spring 2015 Salisbury University students are able to study at the highly regarded Hong Kong Polytechnic University. HOST INSTITUTION: The school was founded in 1937 as the Government Trade School and was the first publicly funded, post-secondary technical institution in Hong Kong. After World War II, the school became the Hong Kong Technical College in 1947, offering both full-time and part-time courses. The Hong Kong Polytechnic was formally established on 1 August 1972, taking over the campus and staff of the Hong Kong Technical College. Today, PolyU is an institution of higher learning and offers more than 130 postgraduate, undergraduate and sub-degree programs, supported by more than 1,000 academic and research staff members from different parts of the world. HOUSING: SU students studying at PolyU are able to live in university residence halls. Students will share a room with another student (no single rooms are available). CITY OF HONG KONG: Hong Kong is a former British Colony which is currently a Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, enclosed by the Pearl River Delta and South China Sea. COSTS: The costs for full tuition for a semester in the Salisbury Abroad: Hong Kong are approximately the same as the costs for study on main campus in Salisbury, MD. Other costs are paid separately. The main costs that are not included are international airfare, room and board. Admission is competitive and enrollment is limited. APPLICATION: The application deadline is Sept 15 for the Spring semester and March 15 for the fall semester.
