*** Application Deadline October 30*** HIGHLIGHTS - Study at one of the Republic of Korea's leading national universities with a world-class reputation - Take courses taught in English that are integrated into many majors throughout SU - Immerse yourself in Korean culture and improve your Korean language proficiency - Live in a residence hall near to campus Salisbury University students have the opportunity to spend the semester or year at Chonnam National University in Gwangju, South Korea. CLASSES All students take one course in Korean language either at the beginning level for students with no previous Korean language experience, or at a higher level based on their courses completed or placement exam. In addition, students can take three or four additional classes in English in a variety of disciplines (click here for a listing of classes in English). The School of Business at Chonnam National University is accredited by AACSB, making credits easier to integrate into majors in the Perdue School of Business. Students interested in advancing their Korean language skills may take multiple levels of Korean language during one semester. Students earn SU credits and GPA. Students should consult with their major department advisor about the integration of the courses offered into the minor or major. The Center for International Education will assist students to integrate courses into the general education curriculum. SU students can earn 4 of 5 courses for the interdisciplinary minor in East Asian Studies during one semester on the Salisbury Abroad: Korea program. It was founded in the early 1950s as South Korea emerged from the Korean War by joining together a number of local universities. Today it is home to almost approximately 35,000 students including over 1,000 international students.
