The Global Village Residence Cluster is a specially designed international program right in Salisbury, MD. The Global Village is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors. The cluster is located at University Village.

The Global Village brings together in one living community international students from around the world and American students from Maryland and throughout our region. The one thing that all residence of the Global Village share in common is an openness to diversity and cultural sensitivity. Residents are eager to make new friends from around the world and to learn about and from others of different language groups, faith traditions, cultural backgrounds, and ethnicities.

If you want to cultivate a lifestyle in which you live as a citizen of the world, choose the Global Village Residence Cluster as your housing option sophomore, junior, and/or senior year.

International Students
If you are an international student coming to Salisbury University in a joint degree program with one of our partners abroad, or studying English in our English Language Institute, or spending a semester as a visiting exchange student, the Global Village is the ideal housing option for you. You will have the opportunity to live alongside American students who are eager to get to know you. If you are only studying for one semester, you do not have to worry. One semester contracts are fine in the Global Village. There are always students from around the world coming and going to and from Salisbury University.

American Study Abroad Students
US students studying abroad for a full semester often worry about housing back on campus. Can I break my housing contract after the fall semester in order to study abroad in the spring? If I study abroad in the fall where will I live in the spring when I return? The Global Village Residence Cluster allows you this flexibility. With international students and study abroad students coming and going every semester, there is always flexibility. The other great advantage of the Global Village for US study abroad students is the opportunity to continue the global learning you started abroad or to prepare yourself for your semester overseas. By deciding to study abroad for a full semester, you are deciding to cultivate your identity as a global citizen. US Students who are not Study Abroad Students
What if you wish you could study abroad for a full semester but for reasons beyond your control you just cannot make it happen during your undergraduate career? Try studying abroad right in Salisbury. Take advantage of the global learning that is right in front of you on campus by living with students from around the world and other American students who share your interest in the histories, cultures, languages, and peoples of the world. Language Immersion Apartments
You do not need to speak a second language to love living in the Global Village. But, if you are working hard to learn a second language and you want to continue to practice as often as you can, a Language Immersion Apartment might be right for you. Depending on enrollment in the program, we can place students in a dedicated apartment where the four residents all commit to practicing the language within the apartment. If you are interested in a language immersion apartment, indicate your preference in the application and we will follow up with you.
